Unit 3: Goals for the Mind, Body, and Spirit

Physical: 

My goal is to better manage the symptoms of my autoimmune disease through healthy food choices, losing 30 pounds, and participating in regular aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Yoga has specifically been a very effective way for me to stretch, build strength and relax.

Psychological:

My goal is to continue developing the skills I need to effectively deal with chronic pain and and the physical limitations it presents. Working with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist to establish positive practices and thought patterns has been very useful. Continuing this kind of work is a great way to maintain and improve psychological well-being.

Spiritual:

My goal is to actually establish a spiritual practice. Although I don't know exactly what this looks like for me yet, but I'm taking the time to investigate various options to see what best suits my needs. Meditation has been a great first step into the realm of spirituality. Even though it also contributes to psychological well-being, this has been an opportunity to better connect with the world around me.
