Unit 5: "Loving Kindness" Versus "Subtle Mind"

The Subtle Mind exercise is definitely a much better exercise for me. The long periods without vocal interruption allowed me to 'work' at focusing and letting go of passing thoughts. The sound of crashing waves is almost like white noise for me. Without being intrusive, it seems to push things along and keep the mind from settling on distractions. The opportunity for self-guided definitely works well with my personality type.

On the other hand, the Loving Kindness exercise was more about expanding your focus outside of yourself and connecting to the universe. I don't think Im there yet. Calming my mind and focusing on my breath is a good starting point to expand my connection to the rest of the universe.
