Unit 4: Loving Kindness
I definitely enjoyed that the spoken word in this exercise was minimal. When it did pop up it felt intrusive though. I suppose meditation is most beneficial to me when I can concentrate on where my thoguhts and emotions are taking me, rather than where someone else is guiding them.
The thoughts presented are good and the sense of them 'washing over me' as the waves crashed was comforting. The segment about breathing in the suffering of a loved one triggered thoughts of the movie The Green Mile. That somehow made the concept more tangible for me. Being able to 'see' what that looked like helped me connect to it.
While this isn't an exercise that I'd like to do every day, that may indicate that I need to do it every day.
